The periodicity of technical maintenance of the different makes of tractors and agricultural machines is conditioned in a great extent by the durability or useful life of the employed motor oil, so as for establishing the periodicity between maintenances is taken as reference the periodicity of change of the motor oil. In the present research was determined the mean frequency between the changes of motor oil for a sample of 14 tractors Yumz-6M and 4 tractors MTZ-80, with a mean age of 15-20 years. The experimental research was performed in real production conditions and was based mainly in the recompilation of information on the monthly consumption of diesel and motor oil of the tractors tested. The observation covers the years 2006 and 2007. The information was statistically processed. Analyzing the results, it was observed that there are deviations regarding the stabilized periodicity of changes of motor oil for these makes of tractors, indicating that the programmed maintenances are performed out of the correct cycle.
