JIMENEZ ESPINOSA, Esequiel Rolando e MONTERO SAN JOSE, Lorenzo. Evaluation of the irrigation quality of travellers irrigation machines (reel machines). Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2013, vol.22, n.1, pp. 50-54. ISSN 2071-0054.
The objective was to value the irrigation quality of the reel machines located in the different production scenarios. The methodology ISO 8224-1 was used for the field test, where parameters of irrigation quality as coefficient of uniformity of Christiansen (CU) and precipitation intensity (Ia) were determined. In relation to the last one indicator, flow and wet width measurements were carried out to different working pressures (130, 150 and 250 kPa) in a modality of reel machine with boom with sprayers and then it was compared with the basic intake rate of the soil. For the determination of the areas watered appropriately, excessively and insufficiently (AWA, AWE and AWI), the methodology ISO 11545:2009 was used being based on 10% above and below the depth average. An analysis of Standard Deviation (dT) and Coefficient of Variation (CV) was also carried out, to estimate the variability of the irrigation uniformity with predominant wind direction regarding the movement of the sprinklers. As result was obtained that there was not correspondence between the speed and wind direction and irrigation quality parameters, being the combination of the sprinklers´ water distribution and the sloping the higher influential. As for the boom with sprayers, to the pressure of 150 kPa the best parameters of irrigation quality were obtained and the Ia was lower; but overcoming to the speed of infiltration of the soil. Therefore the dose should be applied in higher amounts of irrigations and to increase wet width of emitters.
