Abstract

QUINTANA TAMAYO, Jabiel Felipe; MARTINEZ PEREZ, Francisco; VAZQUEZ JORGE, Yanira Guadalupe  and  RAMIREZ ARZUAGA, Jorge. Study of feasibility to optimize frequency of substitution of the lubricant, in engines of electro energetic production. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2014, vol.23, n.3, pp.60-68. ISSN 2071-0054.

The operation of electro energetic production engines has increased the lubricant demand. To implement programs and strategies that contribute to reduce the consumption of this important article, a research work was developed. The selected motors were tested. The samples of oil were analyzed by the standardized methods ASTM, determining Viscosity, BN, Insolubles, inflammation Point and Content of metals. All this, facilitated the monitoring condition of the lubricant. A bioassay of sharp toxicity was carried out to evaluate the changes in the lubricant. It was demonstrated that the lubricant that at this moment is replaced with 350 hours of service, still possesses conditions and appropriate technical characteristics to be used. The bioassay demonstrated that it is feasible to increase the hour’s service, without significant changes in its toxicity and polluting potential.

Keywords : standardized methods; inflammation point; content of metals; polluting potential.
