Abstract

CISNEROS ZAYAS, Enrique et al. Evapotranspiration and crop coefficients for coffee trees in Pinar del Río province. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.2, pp. 23-30. ISSN 2071-0054.

The objective of the present paper was determining the crop evapotranspiration (ETc) and crop coefficients (Kc) for development phases of the coffee (Coffea arabica, L) variety Red Caturra of 12 years old, irrigated with surface drip irrigation system. The experiment was carried out in San Andrés region, Pinar del Río province, during four years on a Yellow alític soil of typical high loamy activity. The ETc was determined starting from soil water balance until 60 cm depth and the Kc divided into ETc of the irrigated plants all the year when the humidity descended until 85% of the soil Field Capacity and the Reference Evapotranspiration (ETo) of the area. As a result, it was obtained that the highest water demand is produced in the flowering-fructification phase, the annual daily evapotranspiration average was 3.24 mm•day-1 and the global crop coefficient 0.86.

Keywords : irrigation management; water consumption; hydric balance.
