SANCHEZ IZNAGA, Angel Lázaro et al. Effect of Geometry and Type of Material in Tillage Implements Wear. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.1, pp. 36-45. ISSN 2071-0054.
Abrasive wear of working organs of tillage implements is a phenomenon that brings losses of material in a short period, causing the variation of its geometry. Therefore, the present work has as objective to determine the abrasive wear in field conditions of chisel and rectangular organs of tillage implements of ultrasoles. The experimental research was developed in areas of “Cultivos Varios” Company of Manacas, belonging to Santo Domingo Municipality, Villa Clara Province, between the months of January and April 2013. The determination of abrasive wear was made by the gravimetric method, which consisted in relating the weight loss of the organ with its mass loss. For this, an experimental design with three treatments and four replications was elaborated. Treatments were aimed at quantifying the influence of the type of work organ geometry and steel. Statistical analysis was carried out using STATGRAPHICS Centurión XV software. The results showed that mass loss in G-60 steel reached average values of 79.81 and in CT-3 steel of 304.02 g. On the other hand, the chisel and rectangular organs reached average values of 180.3 and 304.02 g, respectively. It was quantified that in only 24 h the lost material volume in the chisel-type organs averaged 17.51 cm3 and in the rectangular ones, 34.96 cm3. Finally, it was found that the loss of mass was dependent on the type of geometry and material.
