The present investigation is oriented towards the design of a solar dryer for botanical seeds of pastures and forages. For the fulfillment of the proposed objective, the theoretical-methodological bases referred to the subject were established. It was evident that the proposed theoretical foundations allowed carrying out the design and simulation of a prototype for the solar drying of botanical seeds of pastures and forages. With the use of the Solidworks software (2018 version), the prototype design was carried out and with the Flow Simulation tool, the analysis of fluid kinetics and temperatures was carried out, reaching air velocity values of 0,25 m/s and temperatures of 8 ℃ above room temperature in the drying chamber. On the other hand, with the Simulation tool, a finite element study was carried out to evaluate the structural strength of the prototype, using the von Mises maximum tension criterion, which demonstrated its strength and stability.

La presente investigación se orientó hacia el diseño de un secador solar para semillas botánicas de pastos y forrajes. Para el cumplimiento del objetivo propuesto se establecieron las bases teórico-metodológicas referentes a la temática. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos se evidenció que los fundamentos teóricos planteados permitieron realizar el diseño y la simulación de un prototipo para el secado solar de semillas botánicas de pastos y forrajes. Con la utilización del software Solidworks (versión 2018), se realizó el diseño del prototipo y con las herramienta Flow Simulation, se llevó a cabo el análisis de la cinética del fluido y las temperaturas, alcanzando valores de velocidad del aire 0,25 m/s y temperaturas superiores en 8 ℃ a la temperatura ambiente en la cámara de secado. Por otra parte, con la herramienta Simulation, se realizó un estudio por elementos finitos para evaluar la resistencia estructural del prototipo, mediante el criterio de tensión máxima de Von Mises, demostrándose la resistencia y estabilidad de la estructura del prototipo.
