Resumen

ANDRADE LINAREZ, Katia; CASTILLO COAQUIRA, Isabel  y  ROSSEL BERNEDO, Luis. Quality of Agricultural Soils in the Interior Bay of Puno, Peru-2018. Rev Cie Téc Agr [online]. 2020, vol.29, n.2, pp.42-52.  Epub 01-Jun-2020. ISSN 2071-0054.

The present research paper determined the quality of agricultural soils in the inner Bay of Puno from Chulluni to the north to Chimu to the south. The study was performed in 8 sampling points with six repetitions each, during the months from August to October. The methods applied were Bouyoucos hydrometric, potentiometric and conductimetric. To determine organic matter the Walkley and Black method was used. For the determination of N, P and K, colorimetric test methods were used. Mehlich extraction method was used for nitrates and phosphorus and the turbidity method for potassium. To evaluate biological parameters, the population counting method was utilized, using entomological tweezers and direct observation for the case of macrofauna. The results showed that the physical and chemical parameters remained closely related. That demonstrates that the soils are in optimal condition. Phosphorus presented 36.8 mg/kg at all points, nitrate presented 0.552% in point 1, potassium presented 117.76 mg/kg at point 3 and organic matter presented 3.80% in point 4. Biological parameters corroborated the above with the number and variety of species of individuals. The studied soils still maintain appropriate characteristics with a moderate quality and fertility, although with high values of nitrates that must be controlled to guarantee the success in future plantations, and an evident anthropogenic contamination that is observed in situ that must be controlled.
