Abstract

MAS LOPEZ, Carlos J.  and  AGUAYO JOZA, Melissa. The Health Value Chain of the Treatment of Cervical-uterine cancer in SOLCA Manabí, Centre of Portoviejo, Ecuador.. Cofin [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.2, pp.130-143. ISSN 2073-6061.

The concept of value chain, stated by Michael Porter, was one of the most revolutionary concepts for economic and administrative sciences during the 80s. This concept has been used not only in production, but also in services, especially in health services, trying to make more efficient multiple health processes as for example treatment of illnesses. The object of the present paper is to propose the design of a value chain for the treatment of cervical uterine cancer in SOLCA Manabi, Portoviejo Group, in order to make easier the strategic planning for helping the generation of value of the main activities within the treatment of the illness. The cases study is employed by using techniques such as interviews and bibliographic study among others.

Keywords : health service; treatment of illnesses; strategic planning.
