Abstract

In both the national and international contexts, the subject of competencies has taken off in the last decades, which shows its relevance for today organizations, particularly given the scarcity of talent that many companies report. Nowadays companies must modify their short and long-term objectives depending on the context in which they are in to be sustainable competitive. To perform an appropriate management of competencies is of great importance in achieving this competitiveness since it positively impacts organizational performance. To define the organizational or core competencies of a company results in long-term competitive advantage and also creates value for customers. The following study shows how the process of defining organizational competencies was done in three different Cuban organizations showing its particularities and the regularities found in them.
