Abstract

Biopharmaceutical cold chain management and maintenance is a very complex and highly rigorous activity. A broken cold chain may have a negative impact to the safety, efficacy or quality of biopharmaceuticals, so it is of great importance to identify, control, and monitor critical points in their storage and distribution. That is why risk-based approach is of special significance, which has conceptually and normatively evolved in the biopharmaceutical industry. This paper presents the design and application of a procedure to be followed in order to improve the process of commodity storage and distribution in a Cuban biopharmaceutical company.
