A brief journey through the economic events which have taken place after the Triumph of the Revolution is made in the paper. Those events which have favored the current situation of costs and prices of products and services used by the population, are stressed in order to assess the impact such themes have on Cuban Society. The study got to the conclusion that exchange rate and currency duality, lack of experience on costs and prices on the part of Cuban managers, and poor information about the more modern management techniques and financing methods use in the world, together with the fact that the legislation in force is contradictory and is not updated, spark prices that stifle the middle-income Cuban, without representing any benefit to the economy of the country.
