Science and technology are active elements of transformation of the world in which we live, of our relationships and customs. Therefore, achieving an adequate balance between them and society must be an objective of the human being. Then, regarding the way in which they are connected, the present work will analyze the existing link between the binomial science-technology within society and the conservation, use and care of the environment, from its association to the execution of the dredging works. Thus, the conceptual terms related to science, technology, society and dredging were reviewed.
