This work starts from studies of journals dealing with the matter of management accounting, which have shown the current situation of such periodicals and their importance to the business and academic environment. A body of writings was reviewed in order to find out how management accounting and eco-efficiency are connected, and determine the role played by journals dealing with this. Bibliometrics was used, searching in Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. This allowed steps forward and backward in the matter to be known. The results show that there is a need for pieces of research into management accounting to be made known, and to integrate with new accounting paradigms.
