Public heritage is the result of a social construction of a set of goods to which society attaches very much value. Portoviejo Canton is a canton of Ecuador, located in the Manabí Province. Its capital is the city of Portoviejo which has a rich cultural heritage because of its age and history. This research is aimed at reflecting on its financial valuation, and its potential to yield own revenues which can be reinvested locally.
