Credit relationships between commercial banks and Cuban state-owned enterprises are examined in depth through case studies in the tourism sector. A large body of writings on this subject was reviewed. The development of commercial banks in Cuba, and the role of credit in driving tourism were analyzed. Quantitative research methods were used to measure the impact of bank credit on the profitability of companies. Finally, prospective analysis techniques were applied in order to identify what factors restrict the relationships between banks and state-owned enterprises; determine power and conflict in these relationships; and apply scenario planning to them.
