In this research, a diagnosis of institutional risk management and prevention at the Agrarian University of Havana, and the Technical University of Manabí in Ecuador was made. The method of probabilistic stratified sampling; a questionnaire for obtaining statistically useful information from individuals; and descriptive, inferential, and multivariate statistics were used. The results showed that institutional risks weren’t managed adopting a comprehensive, systemic, and holistic approach, and that there was no methodology for doing it, which is why they weren’t managed in an effective and efficient way.
