The objective of this paper is to show a didactic experience in the teaching of accounting information systems. Action research, as a scientific methodology, is placed at the service of the community and leads to new participatory practices in education. In this case, students are linked to companies in the Havana area; in this way, the link between the academy and the local business sector is strengthened, which allows encompassing educational and scientific research solutions to the real problems detected.
