The work presented here had three defined objectives: to teach an elective course on the management of non-governmental organizations in Cuba, to use students as researchers to learn from the testimonies of entrepreneurs and to make them known as part of a learning process, where it is not said what should be done, but what successful entrepreneurs in Cuba have done. One of the novel aspects of this article is the criteria of the Cuban entrepreneurs who show a path on how to develop sustainable enterprises
