Background: the formative processes in the universities of medical sciences undertake important transformations to perfect the development of the researching abilities in their students. Objective: to show the results of the assessment carried out by a group of experts to the design of the theoretical methodological model proposed for the development of researching abilities in the Medicine students through the in-service training in "Lidia Doce Sánchez" Medical Sciences University Site of Sagua la Grande. Methods: it was carried out a development investigation during the academic year 2015-2016. The dialectical materialistic approach was assumed, where statistical methods were used to get the assessment of the product delivered by the 21 selected experts, applying the Delphy method. Results: according to the carried out and already published diagnosis, a theoretical methodological model was designed for the development of researching abilities in the students of the Medicine career through the in-service training. It was valued by the experts' criteria as very appropriate in most of its aspects, only one was assessed as fairly Appropriate. Conclusions: the application of the Delphy method for the assessment of the proposal revealed the pertinence and appropriate quality of the designed model; besides, the consulted experts predicted that with its implementation, the desired satisfactory results would be obtained, in regard to the development of researching abilities through the in-service training.
