Abstract

WONG MARTINEZ, Taymi et al. Educational intervention from a vocational training group in primary education to promote postural hygiene. EDUMECENTRO [online]. 2022, vol.14, e2081.  Epub Aug 30, 2022. ISSN 2077-2874.

Background:

back pain affects from 70 to 80% of the general population without excluding schoolchildren. The vocational training group can contribute in an educational way in the promotion of healthy postures from childhood.

Objective:

to design a health rehabilitation program for the vocational training group that contributes to creating healthy posture habits and vocational training on this subject in primary school students.

Methods:

a development research was carried out at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences from October 2019 to January 2020. Theoretical methods were used: historical-logical, analysis-synthesis and inductive-deductive; empirical ones: documentary analysis, observation and questionnaires to schoolchildren participating in the vocational training group, and mathematical for statistical analysis. Specialists who valued the designed program were selected.

Results:

in the vocational training files it was found that there are neither health rehabilitation programs for vocational training groups, nor topics addressed on postural hygiene, the applied questionnaire showed misinformation about the specialty, lack of postural hygiene and its importance, evidenced in the observation made to schoolchildren in the way they sit when writing. An educational program was designed to intervene in postural hygiene and motivate the vocation for the specialty.

Conclusions:

the program turned out to be of adequate methodological value, pertinent, useful and feasible according to the evaluation of the specialists consulted. With its application, the school children corrected incorrect postural habits and were motivated by the profession related to Health Rehabilitation.
