CAMPOS MARTINEZ, Lina Aurora; GUERRA SALCEDO, Marisela de la Caridad  y  RIFA TELLEZ, Julio César. Seeking and self-management of microbiological knowledge in the Bachelor of Biology Education. trf [online]. 2024, vol.20, n.1, pp. 162-180.  Epub 01-Ene-2024. ISSN 2077-2955.

Objective:

This article aims at describing a systemic understanding that represents the logic of the process of educating information seeking and processing competencies in biology teacher trainees.

Methods:

Modeling makes possible to devise a model for competency-based education related to individual seeking and processing of microbiology information. The systemic-structural-functional method was used to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the researched object; that is to describe its structure, functions and hierarchical relationships of the constituent elements. Theoretical level methods such as: analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive were also used.

Result:

The contribution is linked to the process of educating information seeking and processing competencies for microbiology self-management. This may be accomplished by relating the processes of apprehending microbiological knowledge, mobilizing self-management information procedures and contextualizing competency-based education.

Conclusion:

The resulting systemic conception that represents the logic of personal management of microbiological knowledge may favor comprehensiveness in the performance of personal management of microbiological knowledge in correspondence with the dynamics of the problems of the profession in students of the Bachelor's Degree in Biology Education.
