Resumen
HERNANDEZ-MARI, Damaris; NUNEZ MORALES, Marylú y MARI MENDOZA, Migdalia. The environmental journalistic mode of action of Camagüey press professionals. trf [online]. 2024, vol.20, n.1, pp. 181-204. Epub 01-Ene-2024. ISSN 2077-2955.
Objectives:
This paper aims at describing the journalistic mode of action of journalists who venture into environmental journalism in Camagüey.
Methods:
The authoress rely on analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction, hypothetical-deductive and historical-logical methods for the analysis of the historical background of environmental improvement in journalism. As methods and techniques of the empirical level, the bibliographical-documentary review, the survey and the interview were used, as well as the mathematical-statistical methods to characterize the current state of the environmental journalistic mode of action of journalists from Camagüey.
Results:
The findings include the historical account of the process of improvement of journalists, and the definition of environmental journalistic mode of action. Likewise, the journalist performance is assessed on the light of this concept to identify potentials and limitations.
Conclusions:
The process of environmental improvement of journalists in Cuba has been characterized by having been developed relatively recently and by its punctual and fragmentary approach. Even when it has made valuable contributions, it has lacked the theoretical-methodological foundations that allow environmental education of journalists to promote a corresponding mode of action of journalists who venture into this type of specialized journalism in the territory.
