Objective:

This paper aims at reviewing the historical evolution of the professionalization of mathematical content in Agronomy, in particular the didactic structuring of the treatment of mathematical content following a professional suited to the environmental contexts. Methods: Theoretical methods such as the historical-logical, analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive were used, together with document analysis.

Result:

The historical study that characterizes the treatment of mathematical contents in the Agronomy mayor with emphasis on its professionalization with an agroecological formative approach. For this purpose, three stages are determined, which are delimited from the moment when the Ministry of Higher Education arises in Cuba in 1977 to 2023.

Conclusion:

The historical trend studied revealed that, in spite of enhancing a class-oriented process with a contextualized theoretical-practical approach, limitations are still present in the treatment of mathematical contents and their relation to the professional and environmental context.
