Resumen

Objective:

This paper aims at describing a methodological strategy for teaching and learning the Spanish Language at the fourth grade of Dominican Republic, following an axiological and humanistic approach.

Methods:

The author relies on both theoretical and empirical level methods. They include a system approach, analysis, synthesis and modeling, as well as teachers surveying.

Results:

The findings provide the referents and rationale to prove the necessity of developing the devised strategy.

Conclusions:

The author arrives at the conclusions that the teaching and learning of the Spanish Language by means of an ethical, axiological and humanistic approach contributes to the motivation and education of fourth grade students. This process demands the acquisition of related contents and methods on the part of the teacher staff since their corresponding initial education.
