The current international context is characterized by the rapid development of science and technology, which poses challenges to Institutions of Higher Education. These institutions must continually ensure they respond to the high social demands around the training of professionals. The present article aims at highlighting the importance and necessity of promoting the management of information and knowledge in universities, as a way to favor collective learning and raise the quality of the academic processes developed in them.
