MARTINEZ LEON, Alicia; GOMEZ SARRIA, Ariel y SARRIA STUART, Ángela. Promoting reading in the University: Experiences in the use of an informatics tool created with this purpose. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2015, vol.7, n.2, pp.128-136. ISSN 2218-3620.
Through the results obtained from an initial diagnosis, it was corroborated that students who enter to the university to be trained as Spanish Language and Literature teachers for High School, have actually read a few literary works, and lack of reading habits; which is not in correspondence with the demands of the society. A computer tool with hyper textual and hypermedia documents is used to promote reading in students. This tool was created with this specific purpose, based on a sample text from the book entitled "La Noche" by Excilia Saldaña that illustrates the use of intertextuality. The application of this computer tool throughout the teaching-learning process proved to be efficient since each student was able to create his/her reading path according to his/her strengths. The idea of what the university professor can do to be a reading promoter was confirmed.
