Abstract

Ecuadorian shrimp production has situated the country in top rankings. However it is time to find a balance between production and restoration, especially in mangroves which have been destroyed with this aim for many years. This is why this research analyses about the incipient environmental concern taking place in the Ecuadorian shrimp farms, particularly in the province of El Oro. Consequently the documentary research referred to in this work is aimed at correcting the fallacies which obstruct the relationship man- nature. This research is intended to make stakeholders aware (directly or indirectly) in looking for a solution to the problems of the endangered mangroves. It is requested ecological thought prevails over the economic one. In this work the main results of the theory used are demonstrated and it is confirmed that without mangroves the future of many other important elements of the valuable ecosystem.
