ESCUDERO SANCHEZ, Carlos Leonel. POPULAR FESTIVALS IN ECUADOR: A FACTOR OF COMMUNITY INTERACTION. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.3, pp. 27-33. ISSN 2218-3620.
Traditional popular culture is a synthesis of the active participation of creative subjects and values carriers in the spontaneity of the process. Hence the traditional character encompasses all social relations through the generational transmission in a time and space that shape the sense of life of a people. Research on these themes in the festive context has been limited to approach the phenomenon in a descriptive way or towards the identification of the main meanings and meanings generated by tradition, without allowing us to grasp from the community the processes of participation and cooperation around the project Collective as a principle of cultural development. In this process the definition of community becomes the articulating axis to understand the links on which the community is based as a manifestation of the system of social relations.
