The present investigation has as objective to realize an analysis that allow to integrate the competitiveness as well as the sustainable development through the realization of business practices that aim to the improvement of the productive and competitive level of the country, thus was realized a contextualization of the sustainable development inside the competitiveness area and the point of linking that both terms have between them, and was realized a description of the Ecuadorian policies develop inside the competitiveness and sustainable development frame, for example: the transformation of the productive matrix and the national plan of good living. It is important to mention that the investigation method used is descriptive, for that reason was realized a bibliographical recompilation through important data bases which are recognized as faithful. Ultimately was concluded that in Ecuador SMEs are in a development process that with the adequate governmental politics as well as the rational use of the nature resources, the country can achieve a general economic development and an awareness about the ecosystem in all the country.
