The present work is based on the logic of a strategic diagnostic procedure for the educational work of the process of training professionals; its validation was oriented to the Economics Career of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Granma, as part of the improvement of the career programs in the promotion to accreditation categories. The research incorporates theoretical precepts of strategic management and its linkage with higher education, as well as the elements to be considered in a strategic diagnosis with a future vision, within the framework of the advancement of the development of programs at the University. The study uses scientific methods and techniques to capture information, from the observation of the quality indicators of training, to the elements that dynamize the educational strategy; the statistical processing of data from the use of professional software Spss and the method of structural analysis MIC - MAC in the determination of key variables that are the object of attention by the group of teachers and students of the career.
