The most effective mathematical exercise for man consists in the daily practice of how he can convert the value of his work into material wealth or mercantile wealth. This article expresses some reflections on the basis of the fundamental principles that represent the economy, with emphasis in the concepts that make the greatest force in the market and that constitute a topic of interest for a social group. It is therefore necessary to analyze them from their own social environment so that their behavior in the contemporary world can be understood. Among the analyzed concepts are: Gross domestic product, merchandise, money, value, use value, supply and demand, labor, wealth, income, capital and others that manage to leave a window open to the interest of distinguishing global and individual economic progress. The wide diffusion of the concept of culture, characterized by a dissonance in the definition and interpretation of the same, will allow us to use the term referring to the focused topics and to reflect on the different elements of interest with the purpose of raising it from the economic point of view and in turn to respond to the social expectations of the present century.
