The present article deals with rediscovering, from individual and collective identities, the peculiarities that the Cienfuegos music gave to its region and locality. In this sense, local development takes care of taking the construction of such identities from their material and immaterial heritage. Knowing and preserving the evolution of Cienfuegos music, it is part of those distinctive features that call by specialists, Cienfuegos sound. By saying development, it becomes evident in turn the improvement of the quality of life and the affirmation of values, which typify the Cienfuegos locality.
