Abstract

The work deals with the main characteristics linked to sensitivity and aesthetic experience, framed in the educational work of Mateo Torriente Becquer, who is considered one of the most important sculptors and founders in the teaching of plastic arts in Cuba. They are approached from the education by the art, elements related to the education of the sensitivity and its social foundation in the frame of the conceptions on the teaching of the plastic arts; the Mateo´s use of art like pedagogical referent and the meaning of the eidetic image in the formative processes; the forms of educating the development of the aesthetics; the aesthetic experience like experience of the feeling and the transcendence of his work.
