Resumen

SEPULVEDA HERNANDEZ, Elia  y  UCAR MARTINEZ, Xavier. Characteristics of socio-educational practices that approach global environmental change in contexts of socio-natural disasters. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2019, vol.11, n.4, pp.310-318.  Epub 02-Sep-2019. ISSN 2218-3620.

One of the main problems facing the 21st century are the consequences of global environmental change. Among them, the increase of anthropogenic natural disasters and climate change. Education is one of the main ways to promote forms of coexistence more respectful and ethical with ecological systems. Educational actions that approach issues related to the environmental issue and natural disasters are generally focused on the school; however, at present, education is not only reduced to school. This article situates and describes the characteristics of those educational processes that take place outside the formal space; what we call socio-educational practices. A systematic analysis of the articles published on this subject in scientific journals is presented. The results show the complex problems of the contemporary socio-environmental context, as well as the theories and methodologies used during the intervention in the framework of those practices. Environmental education is no longer the only possible approach and other educations appear, seeking to re-build new forms of linking nature / society based on resilience, knowledge and the participation of communities.

Palabras clave : Natural disaster; social education; intervention; methodology.
