Reflections on innovation in the tourism industry are marking the debate of those who work or are responsible for organizing this activity. Throughout history, it is noticed that the innovative orientation of tourism is the condition that has led it to become the fundamental economic activity. In this work, the authors try to add their voices to the debate by providing a perspective that interweaves the factors that are determining the process and above all stakes the challenges that development or information and communication technology implies in this century. As a closure of the ideas, it is committed to leave the discussion open in areas directly related to the optimization and evaluation of impacts that are already perceived in tourism development worldwide.
