The generation of waste from human activity, individually or industrially, is a problem that remains one of the main concerns in all orders, and the commercial activity does not escape this situation, being the reverse logistics a field of study more and more analyzed, with proposals that try to minimize the impact from new processes from the same supply chains. But, even solutions that are projected from the logistics or propose alternatives of reuse for materials and resources whose useful life comes to an end, imply risks in the processing, in the management, as well as in expenses that the companies are not willing to assume. In general, this article proposes a revision of the reverse supply chains, in order to analyze the possibilities of its implementation, as well as the challenges and difficulties associated with its execution. To this end, it will be taken as reference the management of household appliances, with a methodological approach that allows to put into perspective the socioeconomic elements involved in its implementation and sustainability.
