With the emergence of web 2.0, the academic community and students have information that increases and diversifies exponentially, due to this, the management and reference of available bibliographical sources that becomes increasingly complex. Faced with this reality, the Technical University of Cotopaxi, extension of the Maná in Ecuador recognizes the need to use technological tools to raise the quality and validity in the process of research and preparation of scientific documents. The objective of this paper is to analyze the impact that the use of the EndNoteX7 bibliographical manager has had on the projects developed by the students of the Agronomy career and the projection required to systematize the results achieved. The study was carried out with 25 second-semester students in the subject Research Methodology. Several instruments were designed and applied as a bibliographical review, interviews with experts, evaluation of empirical evidence and indicators were defined to measure the efficiency in the use of EndNoteX7. The exposed results allow to conclude that the bibliographical managers are a strategy that helps in the search, organization and analysis of bibliographical sources for the investigative work of the students. The basic skills attained can be extended and contextualized until reaching the competences that allow them, autonomously, to face more complex investigations and the use of other bibliographical managers.
