A través de los años Ecuador ha pasado por varias crisis económicas que han incidido en aspectos políticos, sociales, ambientales y culturales. En el presente trabajo se analiza estadísticamente las exportaciones del Ecuador en el periodo 1998-2020, el objetivo es determinar cuál ha sido el impacto en el nivel de exportaciones respecto a las crisis económicas en dicho período. Se realizó un trabajo investigativo documental, revisando las cifras de las exportaciones publicadas en organismos oficiales como el Banco Central del Ecuador. Mediante gráficos se muestra el monto total de las exportaciones anuales, enfatizando el nivel exportador durante las crisis avecinadas tras el fenómeno El Niño en 1998, el feriado bancario en 1999, la dolarización en el 2000, la limitada productividad del petróleo en el 2002, la crisis inmobiliaria en 2008 y sus repercusiones en el precio del crudo en el 2009, el terremoto en Manabí en el 2016 y la pandemia Covid-19. La investigación determinó que fue el año 2015 el de menor monto en las exportaciones con una disminución aproximada del -28%, ocasionada principalmente por la caída de los precios de petróleo a nivel internacional, demostrando cuán dependiente es la economía del país de este recurso.

Through the years Ecuador has gone through several economic crises that have affected political, social, environmental and cultural aspects. In this work, the exports of Ecuador in the period 1998-2020 are statistically analyzed, the objective is to determine what has been the impact on the level of exports with respect to the economic crises in that period. A documentary investigative work was carried out, reviewing the export figures published in official organizations such as the Central Bank of Ecuador. Graphs show the total amount of annual exports, emphasizing the export level during the looming crises after the El Niño phenomenon in 1998, the banking holiday in 1999, dollarization in 2000, the limited productivity of oil in 2002, the real estate crisis in 2008 and its repercussions on the price of crude oil in 2009, the earthquake in Manabí in 2016 and the Covid-19 pandemic. The investigation determined that 2015 was the year with the lowest amount in exports with an approximate decrease of -28%, caused mainly by the fall in oil prices at the international level, demonstrating how dependent the country's economy is on this resource.
