Higher Education institutions play a transformative role in contemporary society to respond to social responsibility, through policies from governments apply solutions to new challenges in order to increase the quality, relevance and rigor in the access of students to the University. This paper aims to assess the role of access to Higher Education in the province of Cienfuegos in the period 2015-2020, taking into account the results obtained in this process, based on a set of aspects related to the different sources of access, results of the subjects required to enter, branches of science with the highest allocation, as well as the options in which students enter their careers.
