Abstract

RODRIGUEZ MUNOZ, Raúl; SOCORRO CASTRO, Alejandro Rafael  and  LEON GONZALEZ, Jorge Luis. The h index and the digital identity of researchers in scientific-technological systems. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.5, pp. 165-174.  Epub Oct 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.

A study was carried out with support in a four-stage methodology; first aimed at presenting the definition of technological scientific systems and second at determining the relevance of the h-index as part of the digital identity in 40 previously selected researchers. The applied qualitative approach methodology takes into consideration a questionnaire which has five criteria, open questions were added focused on obtaining the experiences of the researchers regarding the h index and how they consider they should increase this index. It is confirmed that they know what the h index is, but this is not the case with respect to which would be the best strategies to raise this index. On the other hand, it is evident the need not to assume the h-index only as a number, but rather to carry out comprehensive analyzes of the incidence of research, scientific publications, the consumption of knowledge and its use in technological development.

Keywords : H index; digital identity; scientific systems; technological.
