Abstract
GARCIA DUENAS, Roberto Yasiel; SOLER MARCHAN, Salvador David and CASTELLANOS GONZALEZ, María Elena. Traditional fishing technoproductive knowledge and good practices in the "Castillo de Jagua-Perché" coastal community, Cuba. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.5, pp. 416-430. Epub Oct 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.
The traditional fishing techno-productive knowledge includes habits and thought structures that order the social life of fishing communities and are manifested from daily experiences. Based on this premise, the aim of this paper was to identify and analyze the traditional techno-productive knowledge of fishing in the "Castillo de Jagua-Perché" coastal community, as well as the determination of good practices in fishing activity. As a result, a record was obtained including the seven main gears and the thirteen fundamental fishing methods used in the community; and a set of good practices based on the knowledge and actions of fishermen. It is concluded that both the traditional fishing techno-productive knowledge and the identified good fishing practices must be socialized as a way of guarantee the conservation of coastal resources (natural and heritage) as part of the close existing society-nature relationship.
