Abstract

AGUIRRE OCHOA, Carlos Alfonso et al. Cephalometric correlation of ramus and mandibular body in Andean young adults, year 2019. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.5, pp. 456-462.  Epub Oct 02, 2021. ISSN 2218-3620.

The mandible presents morphometric modifications according to the biological and functional mechanisms of each population; therefore, the objective of this research was to know the possible cephalometric correlation of the mandibular ramus and body in young Andean adults. A quantitative, correlational study was carried out with a non-experimental retrospective documentary design, with a sample of 384 lateral skull radiographs, using the finite sample size formula with 95% confidence and 5% error. The results allow estimating a possible positive statistical correlation between the body and the mandibular ramus; In conclusion, the present investigation assesses that the size of the mandibular body is directly proportional to the size of the mandibular ramus of young Andean adults.
