The publication of public data is an activity that government institutions are using to make their data visible and reusable by their communities. Characteristic that corresponds to one of the pillars of open government in Cuba, transparency. The country has various sources of data with extraordinary value for both citizens and government agencies, however, they do not classify as open data because they use different formats in their publication that generates high dispersion and low capacity for data integration, hindering its reuse. One of the sectors that requires the availability of public data for its adequate attention is the population aging process. From this scientific and technological threshold, this research shows the potentialities of use of a Public Data Observatory through the case study: attention and management of the dynamics of population aging in the province of Pinar del Río. Methods of the theoretical and empirical level were applied. And its result corroborated that the population pyramid of the province is blurred, its base and its top deformed by the growth of population aging. The decline in fertility to such low levels will cause a reduction in human capital, a contraction of the active labor force, as well as faults in the capacity to replace work staggered, also reducing dependency ratios. Scenario that flashes in the near future features of an aging economy where the economic resources consumed by the elderly will exceed those absorbed by children and young people.
