The conception of the research acquires a significant relevance in the context of Higher Education and is analyzed in correspondence with the needs of the environment, the search for a greater relationship between institutions and society. In this area, the Metropolitan University of Ecuador implements the Strategic Institutional Development Plan that establishes the strategies and goals in each of the tactical objectives, which outline the guidelines as core elements in university strategic planning, aligned with national policies. and regional. In this article, a study of the academic and scientific production of research teachers is carried out, in the period 2020 and the first semester of 2021, that is why the relevance in relation to the regulations, and the documentary research based on the results expressed in the semi-annual reports. The purpose is to analyze the relationship between academic production and the relevance of scientific production of the teaching staff to relate it to the strategic conception of the university for the achievement of objectives. The type of study is analytical observational and the results show the progress of the university and the follow-up to the publications criterion as an indicator of quality.
