This article seeks to establish the advances observed through the application of the Problem-Based, Project-Oriented, learning method. The article is the product of a research project carried out at the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia, UPTC, with interviews, surveys and observation grids to teachers, monitors and students, in different times and spaces. It was applied to sixty undergraduate projects, one thesis for the degree of Civil Engineer and one master's thesis. The research was carried out with projects executed during the years 2014, 15, 16 and 17. As results and conclusions. The researchers, oriented in the method, produced the development, among other results, of fifteen disciplinary and human skills. With the analysis, among the novel, with evidence, the decrease in academic mortality was affirmed. Conclusions are presented in order to be useful to teachers and students and at the same time to continue the academic debate.
