The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of the reference models of the parents on the entrepreneurial intention of higher education students. We distinguish between reference models of fathers and mothers and we evaluate how this influences the decision to become entrepreneurs. We use a logit model in a show of 13.200 higher education students from Colombia using the database of GUESS Project 2018. The results show that the presence of reference parents models increases the entrepreneur intention. At the same, this increase is generated with the reference model of the father.
