Resumen

AREVALO CORONEL, Juan Pablo  y  JUANES GIRAUD, Blas Yoel. The formation of competences from the Latin American context. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.1, pp. 517-523.  Epub 10-Feb-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.

Competencies currently constitute a conceptualization and a way of operating in the management of human resources that allows a greater articulation between management, work and education. The competency-based approach is considered as a tool that provides a way of doing and a common language for the development of human resources. Scientific-technical progress, new paradigms of work organization and the internationalization of economies, among other factors, also constitute challenges to university education, in order to achieve the necessary graduates who will act in a society where knowledge becomes a fundamental resource of the economic development of our countries. Thus, the need for the birth of new paradigms requires a new type of learning that includes the formation of skills that will later serve in various orders of the life of our young professionals. It is also worth noting that, the competences are not formed only at a time of life, but in their formation affects the learning process of the person during his life before and after the university graduation, in the family and in society, but each stage and factor that intervenes in this construction entails the formation or consolidation of some of them according to the level and need of these.
