The significance of Sociocultural Studies as a resource in the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals is addressed, especially in current conditions where there are serious limitations for their fulfillment. In the reflection that is carried out on the possible solutions that allow to overcome the problems and aspects that make it difficult to achieve these objectives, aspects of a conceptual and methodological nature are highlighted that could only be addressed with an adequate sociocultural approach to them, especially in terms of referring to the significance of the local and community, the relevance of carrying out diagnoses and characterizations of the specific situations that are manifested in each territory, especially in those with greater disadvantages and incidence of adverse factors, as well as the pertinent attention to local resources, with the available human capital, from traditional knowledge and above all by promoting the traditions and daily cultural practices and their incidence in the transformations to be carried out, and especially favoring the protagonism of the people and communities involved, which inevitably contains precise answers in the sociocultural order, based on this the need to take into account sociocultural studies to find the relevant answers.
