Graduate studies in Higher Education institutions imply a commitment from the social point of view, because they face a series of challenges such as the preparation of the teaching staff to tackle with the formative process. In this scenario, the conception of the tutoring process has peculiar characteristics, for the teacher who assumes the role of tutor must possess certain competencies to guide students to make appropriate decisions regarding their academic performance and becomes a strength in the process of accompaniment from the moment of admission, during their studies and when they graduate. This article, explores the perceptions of the graduates of the Master's Degree in Education: Educational Guidance Specialty, in regards to tutorial management. The setting is the Universidad Metropolitana del Ecuador, and the unit of analysis is considered to be the participation of 20 graduates in the year 2021, from the first cohort of the master's program. Thus, the purpose of this article is to evaluate from the theoretical references, the conception of tutoring in Higher Education and particularly in graduate programs, as well as the opinions of students about their considerations about this in the process of graduation.
