FERNANDEZ BEREAU, Vanesa Bárbara; LOPEZ RODRIGUEZ DEL REY, María Magdalena y PEREZ PEREZ, Enrique. Inclusion: a principle of the university's social responsibility. Universidad y Sociedad [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.2, pp. 311-320. Epub 02-Abr-2022. ISSN 2218-3620.
The conceptions about the social responsibility of the university have a consensus framework for Higher Education Institutions (HEI). They conceive the academic, research, labor and extension processes in accordance with their relevance to the social context in which they are located. Nevertheless, global issues such as inclusion have surfaced over the last few years as one of the extensionist actions to be carried out by universities as part of their scientific and technological development strategy at the service of society. Theoretical systematization and life experiences substantiate the objective of this work: to explain inclusion as an undelying principle of the social responsibility of universities. The exercise carried out includes experiences in Latin American countries and in Cuba, and highlights the results of the practices that, under the principle of inclusion, are developed at the University of Cienfuegos to fulfill this institution´s social commitment to the territory.
